But this exchange is an example of a bad-faith argument: you're trying to engage me in semantics. This is a tactic I address in the essay. Part of me knows better, I shouldn't be responding.

Words have meaning, but language is fluid. You are not engaging with the content of the essay, you're picking apart a word that has real meaning right now outside of its historical origins.

Why are you doing this? Maybe you're an academic and details are your passion. But maybe not.
