Douglas Murray, like Jordan Peterson, are father figures to conservative men trying to navigate an evolving world where they're being asked to change, which is a terrifying request. These two are performative intellectuals with a specific schtick. Murray and Peterson both look to the natural world to explain human behaviors, in Peterson's case it's lobsters. These professorial dudes and their disciples are unable to relate to other humans who are not exactly like them so they retreat to comforting fables about cuttlefish, for instance. Mark, my dude, humans are special because they can discern right from wrong. Can you? Anyway, to horribly misquote St. Augustine I believe, animals serve God better because they stay true to their nature. Stay true to your nature Mark, and crawl back into the dark hole you came from.
