Culture is complex, and there are many facets to timeless archetypes that have spoken to humans over the centuries. To write about one facet, or one aspect does not immediately nullify other dimensions. Although much has been written about the Hero Myth, by very smart people, so I don’t know if those established ideas need your defending. Superheroes are dismissed I think, and the truth is their very layered characters open to lots of interpretation. I am obviously off the mark for you. Also: I LOVE soy.
